Last Saturday, we had our anniversary show at Klughaus Gallery featuring RIME & TOPER. This was our final show at the 47 Monroe space before we move to a new location in 2013! We will definitely miss this place. The title of the show, “Snap Back – Dangerous Drawings About NY” lived up to it’s name as the Fire Department & NYPD showed up because there were so many people that came to see the show. Klughaus Gallery is making its debut in Miami this week representing for New York! Look out for several of our box trucks rolling around the city featuring pieces by some of the nation’s top graffiti artists including RIME, TOPER,DCEVE, WANE, SP, CES, OBLVN, STAE2, GOREY and more… The golden era of graffiti was founded on the mobile canvases of subway cars in New York City. We had the pleasure of working with Jurne on his solo show debut, “Keys To The City” at Klughaus Gallery on Saturday. After watching him spend multiple days and nights (literally sleeping in the gallery) preparing for the show, we could tell that he was very dedicated and serious about his work. Jurne even ended up cutting all the mats to his pieces by himself! In the end, all his hard work and attention to detail paid off! It was one of the most packed openings we’ve had.
