Downtown Art & Skate Happenings LES/Chinatown

They say that summer is the “quiet season” for galleries…

Some pictures taken from 5BORO from Go Skateboarding Day last week…

They opened the skate park down the block just for a preview on Go Skateboarding Day:

GoPro commercial, Ryan Sheckler rolls by the gallery at 2:10 and then does a “sweet jump” down the block:

Some kids did some “art” down the block and Alexander Richter caught some of the “performance art” on film…

A great Jesse Edwards oil painting from Portrait of a Generation show at The Hole gallery.

This guy is big in Japan…

The skate park was close right after Go Skateboarding Day but this didn’t stop the kids from clipping the fence and skating it Saturday morning!  I was proud to see some Old New York tactics were still around.  It wasn’t long before the NYPD came to kick everyone out though.

Boo… (fixed)

SNOWBLIND x Klughaus Gallery Opening Photos (Presented by Making Deals Zine and Carnage NYC)

We’ve been pretty busy over the last week and didn’t even get a chance to post up some re-cap photos from the SNOWBLIND opening last Friday!  Another packed and successful night to say the least.  I’d like to thank the folks over at Making Deals Zine and Ray Mock (Carnage Zine) for putting together a wonderful show.  We were actually planning on getting a snow machine for the event (maybe next time.) Without further adieu, here are some of the photos:

Mike P made a bunch of these awesome hand painted “Snow Bottles” out of liquor bottles. We made some animated gif’s of them for your viewing enjoyment:

Jesse Edwards at the Museum of Sex NYC

We are proud to see Jesse Edwards as a contributor to the “Universe of Desire” exhibit at the Museum of Sex (NYC.) There is also an exhibit at the museum called “F*ck Art” that runs through June. Below are some shots from the opening party last night (just in time for Valentine’s Day.)

Ceramic Blackberries and iPhones with oil paintings by Jesse Edwards:

On the third floor of the museum, LUSH easily stole the show (guest starring adult actress Andy San Dimas.) A little disappointed that some others didn’t put in more effort into this show given this opportunity.

You had to sign this disclaimer before taking a penis popsicle:

Jesse Edward’s “Dialogue of The Streets” exhibit at Klughaus Gallery closes this Sunday (2/12.) It’s your last chance to check out the show this weekend before it’s too late!

Come by and visit us at 47 Monroe Street in Chinatown/LES. Our gallery hours are Thursday/Friday from 1-7pm and Saturday/Sunday from 12-6pm. For everyone who has purchased pieces, you can email info@. to arrange for the pickup/delivery.
