Tickets to #LESbeat Party this Thursday Jan 24th. at a secret location downtown!

#LESbeat is back with another all-out party this Thursday Jan. 24th at a secret location downtown near the Seaport (sponsored by Redbull.) Free food, open bar, DJ’s and surprise performances they cannot announce. There are no ways to buy tickets for this party, you have to get them from your local LES connect.

“If you don’t already know what #LESbeat is all about, basically Red Bull gives a shitload of money to Matt Levine, the nightlife impresario behind Sons of Essex and Cocktail Bodega, and the Brandsway Creative team to rent out a massive undisclosed location and pull together a line-up of guest DJ’s and surprise performances with free food and licks all night. Pretty much the revival of the rave, but with a big budget. The catch is nobody knows the location or the line-up until the night of the event. And the only way to get in is to have an allusive ticket.”

*1/24 UPDATE: Rumored that the guest DJ’s are Jamie from The XX and 12th Planet.

Below is a recap video of the last party thrown at the Chinatown Mall a couple blocks away from the gallery. Open bar, free food, DJ’s and a surprise performance by Camron and Riff Raff! All happening in a spot that was open the next morning for Dim Sum! You gotta love Chinatown.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Air Force 1 sneaker, Nike has joined forces with some of the biggest names in music, art and fashion, for its ‘The Ones’ digital campaign.

Nike collaborates with New Zealand photographer Tom Gould for the Air Force 1 30th Anniversary. Watch as Gould takes us on his own journey through the New Zealand scene, walking us through his roots in graffiti art and Hip Hop culture through to his own personal connection with the Air Force 1 sneaker. Beautifully shot and with an inspiring story to match, watch this to catch a glimpse of his life behind the lens.

We are really late with this but better late than never.  Here are some photographs of the Ricky Powell show from back in June that we had in collaboration w/ Memes NYC titled “Oh No He Didn’t!…”  As usual, it was a great turn out for the Rickster and thank you DJ Smoke LES for the tunes.

Right after this photo, the cops grabbed Ricky for having an open container but they let him off with a warning.. haha

Silverlink Group Show Featuring London’s ATG Crew – Will Robson-Scott, Jack Murray, Jamie Brown and Dominic Corry

Come by Klughaus Gallery (47 Monroe Street) this Friday (May 25) to kick off your Memorial Day weekend! We are proud to present London’s ATG Crew for their debut show in the US. The show, Silverlink will feature recent works by Jamie Brown, Dominic Corry, Will Robson-Scott and Jack Murray. Founded in 2000, ATG (Ahead’a The Game) is a diverse collective of graffiti writers, visual artists, musicians and DJ’s rooted in London sub-culture.

The opening reception will be this Friday, May 25 from 6-10pm in Chinatown/LES. The event will be sponsored by Bomb Beer. If you can’t make it on Friday, the show will be up through June 17th.

The Klughaus Gallery Online Shop is officially OPEN!  There’s been a ton of feedback from people who were not able to make it out to shows in New York.  As a result, we have made some products from previous shows available as well additional OBLVN pieces from the “100 Paintings” show.  We accept all credit card payments through Paypal and the artwork will be shipping out within 3-5 business days. If you have any questions at all, please contact us at info@klughaus.net or call customer service at 646-801-6024.

Note: If you purchased a painting from OBLVN’s “100 Paintings” show, please contact us to arrange a pick up or delivery.  Our gallery will be closed until April 21, 2012  in preparation of the next show (to be announced next week.)

Been so busy getting everything together for this upcoming show that we forgot to throw it on our own blog! 

Portland native Aaron OBLVN will be having his first east coast show this Saturday at Klughaus Gallery.  He is an amazing illustrator and will be showcasing his talent by exhibiting one hundred pieces in a show titled “100 Paintings.”  He will also be releasing a limited edition Klughaus x OBLVN T-shirt as well as a limited edition print.

SNOWBLIND x Klughaus Gallery Opening Photos (Presented by Making Deals Zine and Carnage NYC)

We’ve been pretty busy over the last week and didn’t even get a chance to post up some re-cap photos from the SNOWBLIND opening last Friday!  Another packed and successful night to say the least.  I’d like to thank the folks over at Making Deals Zine and Ray Mock (Carnage Zine) for putting together a wonderful show.  We were actually planning on getting a snow machine for the event (maybe next time.) Without further adieu, here are some of the photos:

Steven Siegel is known for his extensive collection of New York City photos throughout the last few decades. Most of the photos exhibited are circa the blizzard of 1996.
