Spike TV Times Square Billboard

We were honored to work on an awesome project that involved creating an interactive billboard in the middle of Times Square to help promote the premiere of the Ink Master: Rivals show on Spike TV.  For this project, our artists and good friends The Yok & Sheryo were selected to spray-paint gigantic tattoo designs on a photo of an arm that was displayed on a block-long billboard!  The billboard is actually one of the longest in the city’s history. Similar to an actual tattoo session, the project took place over the span of three nights, and the public was able to watch the progression of the artwork.  Even working in the middle of the night (12am-6am), the artists drew quite a crowd during painting sessions.  After all, it’s the city that never sleeps, right?

On the opposite arm, the other/rival (friendly competition) artist was Lamour Supreme painting for our friends at Monorex/High Rise Murals. Both artists did an amazing job, and it was great to see some original artwork amid the often cliche advertising and billboards that saturate Times Square.  Check out some photographs of the billboard progress below and stay tuned for a video recap coming soon!
